Company owned drilling rig

Epiroc Predator 220

In July 2023, the Company purchased its own Epiroc Predator 220 drilling rig which is currently located in Tanzania. The rig is a highly manoeuvrable drilling unit that is capable of drilling at depths of up to 2,400m in 8½” open hole. The rig can be broken down into three parts: rig carrier, substructure, and pipe skate, and the small number of loads gives the rig a distinct advantage when compared to other deep drilling rigs, which typically require more than 120 truck-loads. The rig package also includes 2 cranes (50 mt and 25 mt), a JCB telehandler, generators, well control equipment and downhole drilling tools, all of which provides a fully functional and flexible operating option.

Mobilisation costs and time frames are significantly reduced, as are inter-well moves when contemplating multi-well campaigns. Combined with an experienced drilling crew and management team, the Epiroc Predator 220 drilling rig package brings a significant benefit to Helium One.

With 100% ownership, the Company has total flexibility in utilising the rig, whether for use internally or externally via potential arrangements with third parties in associated sectors across East Africa including geothermal and hydrocarbon extraction.
